About this Work(b)log
Hi, i´m Chris and this is my work(b)log about my new project: A PowerMac G5 Case Mod with a macOS Sierra Hackintosh inside.
In this work(b)log, I´ll document the whole process of building a custo mac into an original, and very beautiful Apple G5 case. I wanna thank the whole Hackintosh Community for the support and effort they´re investing in building such great machines. Thanks go out to:
- tonymacx86
- InsanelyMac
- The Laser Hives
- and of course Apple
For my project, I´ll use a late 2004 PowerMac G5 that I bought via ebay for just 45,00 €uro (full working model in a relatively good condition). I´ll use the G5 conversion kit from „The Laser Hive“, because it seems very clean and I don´t want a trashy look for my new case. I also get some Eloxal Silver Spray, to varnish some parts in the aluminium look e.g. the fan grill (atm it´s chromed) or the slotplate of the PCIe Card (atm black). For my Hackintosh insides, I´ll use existing old components, I have for some time now. I get a new Pascal 1070 for my hack. The 16GB DDR3 RAM and my Xeon E3 1230v2 Ivy Bridge are still enough for my use cases. I add some SSDs to fasten the boot process and get some more applications on the SSDs.
So, now it will start soon. Stay tuned, I´ll report the status on the blog and on the gallery on this site.
