Destroy it and paint it silver

So folks, after I bought the new stuff for the hackintosh, I started the surgery ´bout my G5 case… „Keep calm, patient is dead“. After I dismantled the old mainboard I removed all old hardware inside the PowerMac. After that, I removed the top shelf (what a pain in the ass! Give the engineer of this case the fuckin´ Nobel prize for this construction). I saw a lot of PC cases in my life, but never ever a case construction like the G5. I swear to the Underlord!

Okay, after all the dismantle action, I startet to fit the backplate and start marking the cuttings. I taped it with Scotch-Tape and start to cut the back off. The cut-off wheels from the Dremel (borrowed from a more accomplished colleague of mine) died after the first 10cm, so I decided to stop and buy a diamond cut-off wheel, before I continue the cuttings.

In the meantime, I started painting the backplate and the other sheet metal components with the eloxal spray. That was a really good idea, I think. Looks pretty good so far.

As always, you can find pictures in the gallery 🙂
